I  always wanted to work with clay. I finally started in ceramics in the  1990s. I have had great teachers and mentors guiding me. In NYC, I am part of  Greenwich House Pottery.  Upstate I create  in my home  studio  in Shushan, NY. As I work, I look out at a classic red barn, the ever-changing Battenkill River, my gardens and the many birds stopping by with a friendly tweet.    
 
Every turn in the road in Washington County reveals breathtaking views. Living on the river, I  watch a whole world floating by:  the birds doing their mating dances in the spring,  the baby mergansers following their parents down the river. Herons zooming down the river. Eagles hunting from treetops,  the crows' morning coffee klatch on the lawn,  the owls hooting. All have been major inspirations for my work.
